FAQ

FAQ

HOW MUCH FOR A TATTOO?

Tattoos are priced individually. Placement, Size, Detail and Time are all factors that determine the price of a tattoo. We have a minimum/ starting price of R800. We use an hourly rate for tattoos that are done in multiple sessions or take over 4 hours. This rate ranges from R1000-1200 depending on the design/artist.

If you would like a quote on a specific piece, please send through the following:

- Reference images to illustrate what you are wanting

- The Location/ Placement of the tattoo on your body

- The Size in Centimetres

- The style you are wanting, etc Colour? Black and Grey? Realism? Traditional? etc

- The artist you had in mind to do the tattoo.

CAN I HAVE A FINGER TATTOO?

We typically warn people about finger tattoos beforehand so they of aware of the risks associated.

Finger tattoos heal differently to normal tattoos because of the thin skin on the fingers as well as the constant movement and washing, jewellery etc.

Lines can fall out or blow out, (fall out = ink disappears in places) (blow out = ink blurs or thickens in places)

Fall out can be fixed with a touch up but with a blow out theres nothing we can do.

It doesn’t happen with everyone so its quite hard to predict.

CAN WE TATTOO IN WHITE?

We generally warn people against getting white tattoos, and prefer not to perform them.,

After the tattoo has been done, they tend to discolour, and turn a faint brown on the skin.

CAN I HAVE A WATER COLOUR TATTOO?

We try not to recommend water colour tattoos without black outlines. The reason being  that they do not hold up well over time. We do Black outlines to keep the colour in place. Without outlines, colour tends to spread and get blotchy; where there is more than one colour next to one another they tend to mix and can leave you with a bruise like colour.

CAN I SEE THE DESIGN BEFOREHAND?

Sadly the artists don’t show their work off before the day of the appointment.

But we can assure you that there will be more than enough time to make any desired changes.

DO YOU TATTOO BLACK SKIN

We tattoo everyone!

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AFTER GETTING TATTOOED

We recommend against any physical activity after getting tattooed for at least 5 days. Rather give your tattoo time to heal, so you walk away with the best result possible.

SWIMMING AFTER GETTING TATTOOED

Please avoid swimming and soaking the tattoo for at least 2 weeks after getting tattooed, as this can damage the tattoo.

WHAT TO DO BEFORE GETTING TATTOOED

Each person is different; we do recommend eating something, and bringing something to keep your sugar levels up.

Please make sure you are clean before coming through for your tattoo.

Please make sure that you are in no way under the influence, or intoxicated.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR `TO GET TATTOOED

Be comfortable, wearing something that makes it easy to get to the area you’re having tattooed.
e.g. for leg tattoo - shorts, for arms, short sleeve t, for chest a button up shirt.

IS A HANDPOKE MORE PAINFUL

A hand poke tattoo may seem daunting at first, but it’s actually less traumatic to the skin, and therefore hurts a lot less.

WHAT IS YOUR MINIMUM RATE

Each tattoo is priced individually, but our starting price is R800, which you would pay for your deposit to secure your booking.

depending on the size and detail, the price may vary. So rather prepare for the worst, and be pleasantly surprised.

SHOULD I TAKE A PAINKILLER BEFORE?

We do not recommend taking something like a Dispirin before getting tattooed, as this will generally thin you blood, meaning it will be harder for the artist to tattoo you and capture the stencil.

DO HAND POKE TATTOOS LAST?

Each tattoo will age differently according to how you look after them. The more careless you are with them the worse they will wear.
